Loki’s Adventures

*** August 4, 2008 ***

Um, how many calories are in a stuffed porcupine ? It must not be “Simply for Life Approved” because my parents fuh-reaked out when they saw what I was having for lunch today : My brand new one day old stuffed porcupine! Aren’t what stuffed bears are for : Tearing apart? What do they think I want to do with stuffed bears, cuddle?

What’s up Dawgz ?

Since my parents are sharing their weight loss journey and tips with everyone, I think it’s only fair that I share my weight loss tips as well. Maybe you have a pooch in your life who could lose a pound ?

It’s easy… Just go to Paradis des Chiens, the dog grooming place in Dieppe, and you lose a pound of hair!!

Here’s my before picture. Woah I look like a fatty don’t I ?

And here is the new 1 pound thinner me!!

Now I will share the benefits of my weigth loss with you :

- I can now SEE!! When someone throws me a treat on the floor, I can actually see it!
- My parents tell me that I don’t stink as much anymore!
- I can clearly see my fire hydrant sprinkler again!
- I don’t get as hot now when we go out exercising!

Well, my parents are going on a mini vacation to St-Andrews for the weekend and I’m going to stay with my uncle Brian. So maybe I’ll have more adventures to blog about later!

What’s up Dawgz ?

I think that my parents have been abducted and replaced by aliens! Get this : Last Sunday, we wake up. Daddy takes me out for my morning whiz. We come back inside and I’m served my breakfast… Then, *yawn*, I’m already pooped. I’m ready for my morning nap. The next thing I know, they’re getting dressed in their sporty wannabe Halloween costumes again, and off we go to Centennial Park for a walk/jog in the trails! Woah! Dude, I met a lot of other doggies with their parents at the park on Sunday. It was a gorgeous day, a wonderful day for butt sniffing!

At some point my Dad wasn’t paying attention and I was nearly successful in dashing into the water after a quacker! (My parents call ‘em ducks.) My dad realized what I was doing and yanked me back at teh last minute. D’oh! After a loop around the lake, we went in a trail, where they proceeded to do jogging intervals! What.The.Heck!! I didn’t sign up for this?! What’s the point of going in the woods if I’m not allowed to stop and sniff every tree, branch or rock and mark ‘em ?

After they were done with their craziness, we went across the wood bridge and went on the little island. They sat on the grass and started to stretch. Finally! Relax time! Mommy tied me to her ankle so I couldn’t run after the quackers… but I needed to mark stuff. The only vertical thing in sight was mommy’s sneaker, so I tried to mark it and she completely freaked out. Ugh, girls.

What’s up Dawgz!?

I have been slacker blogger doggy; It’s just been too nice outside to spend too much time on the computer! When we’re inside, my parents hog the computers and don’t let me use them! Plus, they complain about the drool on their keyboards. Pfft!

So we have officially started the Smartest Loser yesterday! My parents are “Smartest Losers”, and I’m just a loser hehe. Our house is full of fruits and vegetables! This morning my daddy was preparing breakfasts, snacks and lunches, while my mommy was putting her war paint on and taming her hair. Then, daddy went in the bedroom to tell mommy to Hurry Up! We’re Late! When they came back in the kitchen, they looked at me and started laughing hysterically. I wonder why? All I did was sniff under the counters…

What’s up Dawgz!?

My name is Loki, I am 4 years old. Nancy & Stephane are my lazy butt parents. Well, okay, former-lazy-butt parents. Since last year, I’ve noticed that we go to the room with the big white food box for snacks and treats a lot less. But this year, their weird behaviors have really started to crimp my style! My schedule used to look like this :

7am – That annoying loud noise starts out of nowhere and that’s my cue to jump repeatedly on daddy’s belly until he wakes up and takes me outside for some paw liftin’. Then we have breakfast.

8am – I’m escorted to my private suite; It has a comfy blanket that smells all kinds of delicious. Mommy thinks it smells like butt. I get to sleep in here and chew on my big raw hide bone allll day while my parents go to work to make money to buy my kibbles & treats.

5h30pm – That’s when I hear car doors close. I start to bark my little head off and punch my suite doors with my paws until my parents appear. Then we have supper, and after that I’m exhausted again and I fall asleep in front of the tv.

12am – That’s when the tv goes off and we all go to bed. Aaaah more sleep!

But NOW, when my parents come back from work, we all go take a walk in the neighborhood! When it’s really really nice outside, my mommy even takes me on really long walks on the marsh trail! The other day, when she wasn’t paying attention, I darted in the marsh water after 2 quacking ducks! Unfortunately she yanked on my leash before I got a chance to get too close. Darn! I’m sure that I’m going to have a lot of stories to tell you all about my outside adventures, so stay tuned! Woof!

Here’s a picture of me yo!

I’m also a part-time super hero!
